Release SFSF 2021h1

Discover the best of SFSF release HY1 2021 with our experts

As of last year, SuccessFactors decided to reduce the number of releases from four per year to two per year. This means that every release holds much more information, but never fear: Flexso for People is here to help you find your way through the latest features, changes, benefits and potential impacts to your way of working.

Updated home page

Starting off our overview with the Platform, SAP SuccessFactors has further developed their latest home page. Many of the gaps between the new and the legacy version have been filled, with the updated version now supporting Learning Activities and displaying To-Dos and Notifications. Good news: you can try out the newest homepage before it is previewed later in 2021 and put into production at the beginning of 2022.

People analytics: more templates

In People Analytics (Embedded SAC), custom fields are now supported, and several standard templates have been made available to facilitate the creation of reports. This now also includes story templates for Learning.

Core HR and payroll: efficiency-boosting benefits for admins and employees alike

For Employee Central admins, mass changes to master data is child’s play in the latest release. The new tool allows the easy identification and selection of records to update all in one go. Changes can be simulated before execution, and planned changes can be shared with colleagues. Another brand-new feature is the configuration management tool, which allows customers and consultants to easily transport configurations between test and production systems.

Quite a few new features have been introduced to Time Tracking. There is a brand-new Timesheet UI which is supported by browsers and on mobile devices. The new UI makes it easier for employees to navigate through the features and record their worked time. Also new is the possibility to register working time ending at midnight, a feature aimed at supporting night-shift employees (only available to early adopters). And lastly, SAP added an option in role-based permissions to define peers as a target population. This was specifically done with Team Absence calendars in mind, giving employees access to the absence calendars of their team members.

Streamlined, transparent talent management and development

In Onboarding, SAP has introduced a separate task list for the Onboarding Checklist. All tasks to be completed are now shown in a handy overview, which makes it easier for managers and HR personnel to follow up on onboarded employees. Even more, SAP has further developed the compliance forms to close the gaps between Onboarding 1.0 and Onboarding 2.0.

Posting vacancies to multiple locations in one go is now possible in Recruiting, if the job board supports this option. In Recruiting Marketing, there is now a very handy reminder when the certificate is about to inspire, and an enhanced cookie banner empowers website visitors to now manage cookie settings.

Employees using Continuous Performance Management are now able to substantiate their realised activities with attachments.

It is now possible to change information directly on Talent Cards (Succession & Development) without the need to navigate to the profile of the employee anymore. And in Calibration (which supports the different talent modules), it has become easier to create calibration sessions from the manager’s point of view, facilitating greater accountability on the manager’s side and reducing workloads on the HRIS administration side.

For Learning, SAP has already mentioned that stories in People Analytics are supported from now on. The ‘Course Home’ experience received new functionalities and now allows users to request classes or withdraw their registrations, view assignments and goals and print certificates.

More flexible compensation insights and actions

In the Compensation module, the most notable release feature is an expanded list of filter options in the Executive Review. These enhanced filter options allow the executive to easily filter the population to compare compensation results among employees. Besides expanding the fields on which you can filter, it is now also possible to save filter settings, edit saved filters and clear them out. A second new feature is the ability to edit the eligibility of an employee directly in the bonus sheet, leading to more flexibility and easy last-minute changes.

But that’s not all!

You can count on plenty of additional updates and features in the next release. Want more details about SAP SuccessFactors features that are especially value adding for your business?
